Another Place Anthony Gormley Crosby Beach
Today’s ride was from Wallasey to Formby via Liverpool and Crosby Beach, a total of 31.6km. We crossed the Mersey ferry and spent what seemed like hours crawling through the Liverpool Docklands. The Albert Dock and city centre may be all spruced up but the ride out through the docks towards Bootle and beyond was grim. Things pick up further North as we picked up the coast again and stopped off at Crosby to look at Anthony Gormley’s installation, Another Place.
We could have spent hours here on the beach, looking at the statues and watching how the installation changed with the tide, but remember we are on a mission. The longer we dawdle about, the less likely we are to reach John O Groats. So after a few photos we were on our way again.
