Send Your Kids Packing with a Trunki

Do your kids help you with the holiday packing or do you continually find yourself alone in a sea of summer dresses, arm bands and flip flops? Maybe your children would be keener to get involved if they had a Trunki to pack and ride? Does packing drive you crazy?

If your house is anything like ours I’m guessing packing is not a whole family activity. In fact the very mention of it here sends everyone packing – to their bedrooms and sheds – to avoid getting involved. And I end up grappling with piles of clothes that concertina to the ceiling before toppling over onto the emergency corned beef I was hoping to squeeze into the space between socks and sleepsuits. When did Mums get appointed chief folder, ironer, packer, stuffer and labeller? I never applied for the job and the pay is rubbish. So I view anything that gets the kids even slightly interested in packing or lugging luggage a bonus. Which is why I loved the idea of working with KLM to see how a Trunki could help us take a short cut to holiday heaven.

Trunkis make packing and lugging cool

I’ve always admired Trunkis from afar. Trunkis are little character suitcases on wheels that children can pack, carry and ride themselves, big enough for a small person to cram in everything they need, yet compact enough to count as hand luggage on many airlines.

Even now, as teens and pre teens, my kids always squeal when they see another child riding a Trunki. While I see an opportunity for devolving packing and lugging responsibilities. This may be the stuff of dreams. Or maybe my hunch is right. Either way we will find out now. Because the kids are now the proud owners of KLM inspired Bluey Trunkis.

Who is Bluey?

Bluey is a little plane and the mascot of airline KLM. He is also the star of his own movies, created as entertainment for young KLM passengers. Check out the #BlueybyKLM hashtag to find out more.

Making travel easier for families

Bluey also features on a new Trunki design from KLM. While Trunki is making it easier for families to travel, KLM is thinking along the same lines. With routes out of 19 regional UK departure points including Norwich, Cardiff, Bristol and Birmingham, they are encouraging families to travel from local hubs rather than trekking off to London or Manchester. Flying from a local hub means shorter journey times from home, savings in petrol and train fares and often cheaper car parking and no need for overnight accommodation the night before an early flight or after a late night arrival. Get yourself a Trunki

If you’d like to make things easier travelling with your kids, why not consider getting your kids a Trunki. Like KLM, you can even customise your own.
